David Bowie: The cleverest and most interestingly brilliant man of our time. What a vacuum he leaves, and how he will be missed. Roger

I love how Bowie challenged people's perception of gender stereotypes and what an Outsider truly was. He was SO ahead of his time

PM: I grew up listening to and watching the pop genius David Bowie. He was a master of re-invention, who kept getting it right. A huge loss.

I received this text from someone that is very close to me. the perfect person to give you tragic news really. this one hurt.. first time I heard David Bowie was on mtv in the 80s.. "let's dance" , "modern love", "China girl".. I guess this was his "pop star" era.. but even in his most commercial stage he was still the oddest most creative pop star in pop music. it was later on in my teenage and 20s that I started diving deeper into his records and finding an "artist" that was completely unhinged and willing to throw his past in the garbage just to make room for a new persona. a new face. a new fashion. a new hybrid of music… God damn it I sound like a tool right now.. anyway… this is not a eulogy.. I'm really sad that he's gone.. I'm humbled to have lived on the same planet at the same time as David Bowie. he is a hero .. is there life on mars? Billie Joe
