Después de 30 años de carrera, la banda estadounidense The Flaming Lips anunció que lanzará en junio su primer álbum recopilatorio con sus mejores éxitos.
Titulado simplemente como Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, la recopilación será publicada el 1 de junio y contará con todos los singles de la banda de Oklahoma, revisando desde Hit to Death in the Future Head (1992) hasta Oczy Mlody (2017), su más reciente álbum. Además, se incluirán lados B, tomas descartadas y tracks inéditos.
Cada canción de Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 ha sido remasterizada de la fuente de cinta original por el productor de la banda Dave Fridmann, que también ha trabajado con Mogwai, MGMT, Tame Impala y OK Go.
La edición de lujo de Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 estará disponible en tres CD y en formato digital, y también se resumirá a 11 canciones para la edición en vinilo, entre las que se incluyen «Do You Realize??», «Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Pt. 1» y «The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song».
Los fanáticos que preordenen el álbum recibirán una descarga instantánea de «We Can’t Predict the Future», una canción que Wayne Coyne y compañía grabaron inicialmente durante una sesión de la BBC de 1999 y que luego se lanzó en la reedición de The Soft Bulletin.
