Este domingo 27 de octubre falleció el músico estadounidense Lou Reed (1942-2013). La muerte del co-fundador de The Velvet Underground fue lamentada por miles de personas en las redes sociales, incluyendo a diversas figuras de la música, quienes lo reconocieron como una importante influencia.
Desde John Cale (se ex compañero en The Velvet Underground), hasta Julian Casablancas (vocalista de The Strokes) o Flea (bajista de Red Hot Chili Peppers), incluyendo a estrellas del pop como Cyndi Lauper, todos expresaron su pesar por la repentina partida de Lou Reed.
Si bien el músico se había sometido a un trasplante de hígado en mayo de este año y estuvo delicado de salud, parecía haberse recuperado y a principios de octubre presentó junto a Mick Rock el libro de fotografías Transformer, que retrata la época en la que Reed publicó su trabajo más exitoso como solista.
