Dimebash 2010: gran tributo al guitarrista de Pantera

El próximo 29 de octubre se llevará a cabo un concierto que honrará la memoria del desaparecido guitarrista de Pantera y Damageplan, Darrell Lance Abbott, más conocido como “Dimebag» Darrell. El evento llevará por nombre Dimebash 2010 y se realizará en el Key Club en West Hollywood, California, con músicos verdaderamente de lujo.

Algunos de los presentes en este tributo al guitarrista -quien fuese asesinado cobardemente sobre el escenario el 8 de octubre de 2004 cuando se presentaba junto a Damageplan- son: Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters); Simon Wright (DIO, ex AC/DC), Brent Smith, Zach Myers y Eric Bass (Shinedown), Kerry King y Dave Lombardo (Slayer), Robb Flynn y Phil Demmel (Machine Head), Chuck Billy (Testament), Twiggy Ramirez (Marylin Manson, Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle), entre muchos otros.

Rita Haney, quien fuese por muchos años novia de Darrel, comentó: “cuando ocurrió esta tragedia, vi a la comunidad musical unida como nunca antes. El hecho de que el nombre Dimebag hoy logre que tanto músicos como fans rindan un homenaje tan respetuoso a una gran persona, es realmente sobrecogedor”.

La presentación también será filmada para el lanzamiento de un próximo DVD. Los fondos del concierto (boletos, merchandising y demás), irán en beneficio de la Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, fundada por la viuda de DIO, Wendy, para luchar contra el cáncer.
